Welcome to the Dance Conditioning Hub

A dedicated training space for dancers focusing on performance, maintenance, and injury recovery,

led by a Royal Ballet School healthcare specialist.

Integrating Pilates, strength and flexibility training, our approach is tailored entirely to your unique needs

to help you reach your goals.

Our Story

Traditional dance training is brilliantly designed to teach technique and choreography.

However, busy studio schedules rarely leave enough time to develop the peak physical conditioning required in the profession today. Dancers face the physical demands of elite athletes, but they do not always receive the modern sports science support provided in other high-performance environments.

We founded Dance Conditioning Hub to bridge this gap.

We want to give dancers the training framework they need for long, healthy careers.

By combining varied conditioning methods, we focus on targeted strength, mobility, and functional balance to equip you with a resilient foundation. This ensures you can handle your performance demands safely while reaching your absolute peak on stage.

Training Pathways

Performance Enhancement

In this pathway, we help you build a strong physical foundation to elevate your technique and move with control. Focusing on strength, power, balance, and mobility, we give you the resilience needed to handle long hours in the studio while protecting your body. Additionally, every program is tailored to your specific dance style, making sure your training directly transfers to the stage.

Physical

Maintenance

Peak fitness requires consistent care during rehearsal and performance periods as well as recovery periods. This pathway provides targeted cross-training and recovery protocols to ensure your entire body stays well balanced during high-load seasons. Further, we provide customised plans to maintain your strength and stamina when you are taking a well-deserved break from intense studio hours.

Injury

Rehabilitation

We are here to help you return to the studio with confidence after an injury. This pathway focuses on safely regaining your physical strength, stability, and motor control in a supportive and progressively structured environment. Along the way, we build your training plan to improve and condition other areas of your body while you recover. This comprehensive approach maintains your overall fitness, ensuring a safe, prepared return to dance.

Meet Markella

My background brings together years of dance education, professional performance, specialised movement science, and high-level clinical education. After earning my Dance Teacher Diploma (DipHE) in Greece, I moved to New York City to expand my training and begin my professional performance path. There, I trained alongside the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, earned a Certificate of Accomplishment in Cunningham Technique, and danced for independent contemporary choreographers. Driven by a passion to support the physical needs of movers, I later transitioned to London to focus on dance science, advanced conditioning, and research. I earned an MSc in Dance Science from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance - with a specific focus on flexibility training - and have dedicated my career as a specialist dance scientist, Pilates instructor, and personal trainer supporting dancers through every stage of their physical journey. For over eight years, I have worked within the healthcare team at The Royal Ballet School, guiding students and elite young artists through targeted performance enhancement and structured injury recovery. Alongside my clinical support role, I work as an Affiliate Programme Tutor and contribute to their Video on Demand resources. My institutional background also includes working on the Health and Wellbeing team at Central School of Ballet, supporting their degree and foundation programs. Beyond these roles, I am an international faculty member for BASI Pilates, where I educate instructors worldwide. I founded Dance Conditioning Hub to bring this elite level of specialised care directly to you. My mission is to merge applied movement science with deep anatomy education, providing you with a structured, supportive space to elevate your technique safely and protect your career longevity.
